Domaine Duffour 2015
Michel Duffour’s excellent dry white is made predominantly with Colombard, along with smaller amounts of Ugni Blanc and Gros Manseng. Tasting Notes: Notes of melon, clean, pure flavors of citus fruit, an engaging herbaceous note, and a pleasingly dry finish.
Ana Sauvignon Blanc 2016
Named after winemaker Michiel Eradus’ daughter, Ana could be described as a typical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with cut grass aromas, gooseberry flavors and refreshing citric acidity. With its equally attractive price tag, we cannot get enough!
A to Z Riesling 2016
The 2016 A to Z Oregon Riesling is a pale gold color with just enough green hue to suggest spring is on its way. Piquant aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, lime zest, lemon balm, citron and spice include floral hints of apple-blossom and freesia over time. The wine has good intensity and no shortage of personality, bright yet rich and smooth with a hint of sweetness. Highlighting the generosity of the vintage and the complexity gained from sourcing across Oregon, the 2016 A to Z Oregon Riesling is drinking great now and will age gracefully.
Piancornello Rosso di Montalcino 2014
Grown in rocky, volcanic soils, the Sangiovese fruit from Piancornello’s property exhibit fascinating mineral qualities, terrific intensity and full-bodied exuberance. If you’re searching for a delicious Italian red, you’ll want to secure a case of Piancornello’s Rosso di Montalcino while supplies last… There’s simply never enough of this wine to meet demand.
Domaine de Beaurenard Chateauneuf du Pape 2014
Smoky, spicy, soft and loaded with sweet, red fruits, black raspberries, thyme, earth and a bit of dark chocolate in the end note that adds to its round textures.
Cavallotto Langhe Nebbiolo 2014
This Nebbiolo comes from Barolo vineyards, generally from the youngest vines. Excellent structure with aromas typical of the Bricco Boschis: Red fruits and flowers, with spices, all open and intense. Excellent aging potential. This wine finds its best matches at the table, with appetizers of sliced meats such as prosciutto or salami; also Alba beef tartare and vitello tonnato. The wine is also good with pasta, simple red meat dishes in general, or with seasoned cheeses.
R. Lopez de Heredia Rioja Vina Tondonia Reserva 2004
94 points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2004 Viña Tondonia Reserva is a completely different story. It is a worthy follower of the 2001, the greatest of the Viña Tondonia Reservas of recent times. It has the usual blend and usual levels of alcohol and acidity, bottled after six years in oak barrels. The nose feels savory (if that’s possible–umami?) and developed, with tertiary aromas and good balance between spices, leathery notes, cherries and balsamic notes of cigar box and incense. The palate is both round and crisp, with refined tannins. It has very good balance with subtle acidity and very good persistence.”
Terra Barossa Shiraz Cabernet Petit Verdot 2014
The color is a deep inky purple. The nose is a complex mixture of lifted berry fruit, pencil shavings/chocolate oak and ripe plums, with a floral lift from the Petit Verdot component. The palate is medium to full bodied. Due to the complexity of the blend, the palate starts with sweet plums and spice and then turns to blackcurrants and liquorice with dark chocolate interwoven throughout the mouth. Soft and sweet tannins then follow on with some great sweet fruit.
