The wine has a dark red hue with a spicy plum character which is complexed by an iodine like character. Plum and black currant fruit characters are balanced by spicy, chocolates and oak characters. The wine has soft tannins which provide structure to the wine. The wine finishes with a creamy character and lingers for a long time.
Fableist Merlot 2015
Back from the dead, the Merlot has a classic claret character. Black tea, northland blueberries and wet concrete. The silky texture slides gracefully across the palate leaving behind hints of sweet plums, warm cedar planks, and freshly ground spices.

Concentrated boysenberry, licorice and asphalt scents carry mild green accents of alfalfa and mint. This feels ripe and lush but not too heavy. Flavors of baked blackberry, licorice and loamy earth finish warm and cushioned, with notes of anise and pepper accompanied by some heat and burn. Drink through 2020.
